- They are expected to participate in the quoting and designing of tools in addition to the actual building and repairing of tools; have a thorough knowledge of CNC machining, understand the function of all mold components, and the tolerances that are needed to produce a quality mold and therefore work that meets these expectations.
- An "A" Moldmaker must be able and willing to learn new technology as it becomes available; may have responsibility to more than one mold at a given time, depending on workload, and is expected to work with little or no supervision, perform all duties in a safe manner, and to report any safety concerns.
- They are responsible for implementation of Quality Systems as identified in the Flambeau Technology Center's Quality Assurance Manual and Supporting Documentation.
- Assemble molds in accordance with tool designs and control plans.
- Review mold designs for molds assigned.
