- The primary responsibility of the position, under the supervision of the chief medical physicist, is to perform the traditional medical physics activities of a progressive radiation oncology department in a state-of-the-art cancer center.
- The position also includes membership on the Health System's Radiation Safety Committee, providing advice and potential supervision on various radiation safety-related issues or radiological physics activities that may arise within the Health System.
- At least two years of experience in Radiation Therapy Physics are required, which may be obtained concurrently with the completion of a CAMPEP-accredited graduate/residency program.
- Certification (or eligible) by the American Board of Radiology and registration as a therapeutic radiation physicist by the State of Illinois is required.
- Coordinates Radiation Safety program for UW Health Northern Illinois Health System including implementing authorized corrective actions ensuring compliance with regulatory and state requirements.
