- The Risk Manager is responsible for the implementation of the facility’s risk management and patient safety activities in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Certification (CPHRM) is preferred but required within 3 years of employment.
- Works collaboratively with the Trinity Health Area Claims Manager and works directly with Legal Counsel as requested.
- In litigated claims, assists legal counsel in accessing facility records as requested to prepare defense for the claim.
- Has general knowledge of, and is familiar with, how the facility’s insurance coverage may apply to liability and casualty loss, which includes self-insurance funding, premium allocation, risk retention, and/or potential coinsurance/excess insurance coverage.
