- Under close supervision and as a member of a crew, perform unskilled to routine semi-skilled work to maintain, repair, and inspect the City's wastewater collection system including sewer mains, manholes, and sanitary and storm drain lift stations.
- Perform manual labor duties as assigned including: connecting sewer trunk lines, installing lateral lines and connections, laying and aligning pipe, performing hookups, changing pumps and motors, and laying brick.
- Provide manual assistance to other workers engaged in the maintenance of City sewer system including the inspection of sewer lines and manholes to locate stoppage, clean and repair catch basins and manholes, repair and construction of manholes, and the inspection and maintenance of pumping sites.
- Place sheeting to shore trenches, cut pipe and perform other tasks related to sewer main repair, replacement and extension.
