This position takes on many facets with a core focus on Virtual Machine technologies, the messaging environment, data storage, and disaster recovery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Provides analysis, design, standardization, implementation, and maintenance of server and storage systems in support</li>
<li>Manages and monitors virtual environments including Host systems, Server VM’s, Virtual Desktops for upgrades repairs and proactive software maintenance</li>
<li>Administer and monitor the messaging environment to include installation and support of e-mail, Unified Communication, and Instant Messaging systems</li>
<li>Manage the data storage systems so that proper allocations in the production and development environments are maintained in accordance with business levels</li>
<li>Configures, tests and monitors all servers both physical and virtual on a daily basis through manual and programmatic methods to identify, diagnose and resolve anomalies</li>
<li>Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented servers and systems for ease of operation, maintenance and identification</li>
<li>Support Windows and Linux systems, business applications, voice and data communication systems</li>
<li>Monitor and enforce software compliance as applicable</li>
<li>Daily management of a IT Systems engineering staff, to supervise problem resolution activities, operating system patches, software upgrades and hardware configuration</li>
<li>Maintains physical computer operating buildings or rooms including Data Center, MDFs, and IDFs for proper HVAC functionality and UPS health</li>
<li>Provide support on VoIP and Video conferencing services.</li>
<li>Obtain and maintain required certifications for partnership with key vendors</li>
<li>Assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Hands-on experience administrating production and development server systems with a focus on high availability.</li>
<li>VMWare VSphere 5.5 & 6.X, Microsoft Hyper-V and related management tools</li>
<li>Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, RDS, AD Domain services CLI tools, PowerShell</li>
<li>Experience with Storage Area Network design, installation, and management.</li>
<li>Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Microsoft Exchange, IIS, SQL server.</li>
<li>Management of automated patching and proactive monitoring technologies.</li>
<li>User and device support systems for tracking problem resolution and change management.</li>
<li>Backup & Disaster Recovery tools.</li>
<li>Having the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical staff</li>
<li>Can work independently maintaining, monitoring and enforcing server/system policies.</li>
<li>A practical level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.</li>
<li>Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, VMware and Windows Server systems</li>
<li>Strong scripting skills in Visual Basic, PowerShell, PowerCLI, etc.</li>
<li>Troubleshooting focused on root cause analysis. Event and trace log auditing</li>
<li>An understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking</li>
<li>Ability to lift, carry, and move all components of PC workstations, servers, network equipment, peripherals, and other ancillary equipment</li>
</ul>
Education
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree (preferably engineering related)</li>
</ul>
Experience
<ul>
<li>Min 8 years of server & system administration mandatory</li>
<li>8+ years of system virtualization administration mandatory</li>
<li>8+ years of technical management experience mandatory</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize and multitask</li>
<li>Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge</li>
<li>Excellent customer presentation skills</li>
<li>VMware certification VCP required</li>
<li>Microsoft certification MCSE strongly preferred</li>
<li>Experience in the semi-conductor industry strongly preferred</li>
</ul>
Power Integrations is committed to building teams that drive innovation and therefore review a range of factors when determining compensation. The annual base pay range for this position is$132,577- $169,698.Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, qualifications and work location.
The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
