- We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Infection Preventionist.
- In this role, the successful candidate Under the guidelines of the Director of Infection Prevention and the Hospital Epidemiologist plans and implements daily operation of the Infection Prevention Program.
- Responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of Hospital acquired infections (HAI); educating employees about infection prevention; and the development of Health system policies and procedures to insure rigorous infection control standards that meet JCAHO, OSHA, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other nationally organized agencies recommendations and requirements.
- Evaluates patient care practices for effectiveness, application to Infection Preventionist (IP) and provides feedback to the appropriate departments.
- Compiles surveillance of data, calculates the incidence rates of HAI and device related infection rates and the prevalence of specific infections (e.g.: STD, VRE, MRSA, HEB, HEC); Reports findings of epidemiologic significance to appropriate groups, units and IC Committee.
