The role of Individual and Family Plan (IFP) Agency Manager is vital in achieving this commitment to our members through their focus on innovative leadership, agent support and coaching, and accountability for growth and results in all distribution channels selling UnitedHealthcare Individual and Family Plan products. If you are located in Kansas or Missouri, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: <ul><li>Business Growth by achieving assigned sales/membership growth targets in his/her territory/territories. Sales targets are achieved by building and managing agents and agencies within two sales channels 1) Direct Agents who are independent sales agents who contract directly with UnitedHealthcare to sell Individual and Family plans and 2) Field Marketing Organizations (FMO) who manage an agency with multiple agents contracted directly with UnitedHealthcare to sell Individual and Family plans </li><li>Continually build and nurture agents and agencies team </li><li>Ensure utilization of the structured on-boarding process, contracting, certification and training processes, tools, and systems </li><li>Organize agent or agency activities to ensure effective and efficient coordination across the territory </li><li>Act as a liaison between agents and agencies and UnitedHealthcare IFP sales process owners to ensure agents are appropriately set up and supported across their lifecycle. This includes, contracting, licensing/appointment, certification, training, enrollment administration, commission payment, agent servicing </li><li>Collaborate with key agents and agencies and provide them with necessary communication, training, and sales support </li><li>Assist with agent recruitment, helping to build solid partnerships </li><li>Organize involvement in formal and on-the-job training to ensure an accurate understanding of our products, compliance / policy requirements, sales processes, brand and value proposition messages and sales systems </li><li>Coach, manage/develop staff to achieve quantitative and qualitative performance targets </li><li>Use data and insights to coach for optimal performance </li><li>Monitor sales results, trends, and key performance indicators (KPI's) and hold representatives accountable for achieving targets </li><li>Conduct meetings to review sales results/activities and provide feedback/coaching on opportunities for improvement </li><li>Achieve assigned sales targets and membership growth targets through in his/her territory(ies) </li><li>Partner with the internal and external individuals/organizations to identify and develop relationships that influence the buying behavior of our target consumer (e.g., providers, regulators, faith-based organizations FBO's, community-based organizations CBO's and associations) </li><li>Ensure compliance: ensure agents adhere to sales and marketing guidelines associated with federal and state regulations, company policies and procedure </li><li>Communicate Effectively and Manage Conflict by: <ul><li>Working collaboratively with others (both inside the sales unit as well as outside) to achieve goals </li><li>Relate to others in an open and accepting manner and treat everyone with dignity and respect while focusing on inclusion and diversity to maximize team performance </li><li>Keep others up-to-date on information, openly contributing ideas and fully understanding support decisions made by the team and the organization </li> </ul></li><li>Lead with and model Achievement Drive by: <ul><li>Demonstrating the ability to meet or exceed performance standards in a timely manner </li><li>Exhibiting attention to detail and ability to track/maintain various components/data elements required/needed (e.g., sales materials, files, etc.) </li> </ul></li><li>Display a strong Growth Mindset by: <ul><li>Encouraging innovation and pioneering thinking whenever possible </li><li>Using facts, sound judgment and application of business knowledge when making decisions within existing processes </li><li>Quickly identifying and effectively resolving issues/problems in a way that supports the long-term goals of the organization yet meets the immediate needs of the situation </li> </ul> </li> </ul>You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: <ul><li>State life / health insurance license </li><li>Maintain a valid driver's license </li><li>5+ years of experience conducting sales presentations or trainings in person and virtually </li><li>2+ years of experience managing a team of people (accountability, negotiations, etc.) </li><li>2 + years of experience managing and developing agency partners </li><li>1+ years of experience managing marketing budget </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) </li><li>Ability to travel up to 70% of time within this sales market area </li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>Live in the state of Kansas or Missouri </li><li>Understanding Individual and Family (ACA) sales and marketing regulations and guidelines </li><li>Knowledge of internal processes/departments to support the sales process and assist in problem resolution (e.g., Marketing, Billing/Enrollment, Customer Service, etc.) </li> </ul>*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.
