- The goal of the Solid and Hazardous Waste Branch is to protect public health and the environment from the improper management and disposal of hazardous waste and solid waste, and from the releases of petroleum and other hazardous substances from leaking underground storage tanks.
- The primary purpose of this position is to independently perform difficult and complex geologic studies, reviews, and investigations at hazardous waste, solid waste, and leaking underground storage tank sites and evaluate the environmental and health issues of those releases.
- Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree and major in geology, hydrology or a related field of geoscience.
- obtaining a professional knowledge of the theory and application of the principles of geology and closely related sciences, e.g., geophysics, geochemistry and hydrology.
