- Since 2020, FAS has supported the advancement of climate and clean energy policy, working hand in hand with policymakers from across the federal government to develop and support policies and programs aimed at accelerating a just clean energy transition across the United States.
- In this historic moment of investment, FAS is well positioned to continue to evolve and design innovative programming and policies to support the transition to a clean energy future.
- Engage in policy research and provide subject matter expertise on topics related to climate and clean energy, including but not limited to, clean energy demonstrations, grid infrastructure, industrial decarbonization, hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, geothermal, manufacturing and energy supply chain, and equitable and just clean energy development and deployment.
- Develop reports, briefs, and memos guiding FAS and other federal agencies to cultivate a whole-of-government approach in coordination with non-governmental partners to generate enduring climate and energy policy to spur beneficial impact on the nation’s health and environment.
- A working understanding of the U.S. federal energy ecosystem and experience in some of the following: past and existing policies and core federal energy programs, critical agencies and offices and their functions and strategic priorities, energy justice, the clean energy innovation pipeline and its component parts across federal R&D, commercialization, and deployment, and other related programs or policies within clean energy.
