THE INTERNSHIP At Hollywood Park, our primary objective for this internship program is to foster emerging talent while developing future leaders of the sports and entertainment industry. This is a paid opportunity for undergraduate juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who share our passion for creating extraordinary experiences. Interns will work with specific departments at our offices in Inglewood, CA and immerse themselves in a behind-the-scenes experience. By participating in this program, individuals will gain knowledge of the business, establish meaningful connections, and explore exciting career opportunities. Hollywood Park is in search of a highly motivated, organized, and enthusiastic individual who is interested in working within the heart of the sports and entertainment industry. As a Finance and Accounting Intern, you can expect to work hand in hand with our Finance and Accounting team, participate in all accounting operations, meet various members of Company management as well as gain valuable, real-world experience in the sports and entertainment industry. Interns will gain firsthand experience in areas such as Event Settlement, Revenue Recognition, and Real Estate Accounting. RESPONSIBILITIES  Assist in the preparation of annual audits, contributing to the gathering of necessary financial information and documentation
Execute basic accounting journal entries and data entry tasks to contribute to the accuracy and completeness of financial records
Aid in the preparation of Event P&Ls at both SoFi Stadium and YouTube theater
Work collaboratively with the accounting team to ensure smooth operations and effective support during busy periods
Aid the team during audit season to enhance overall efficiency
LEARNING OBJECTIVES  Gain practical, hands-on experience by applying accounting principles and industry knowledge in real-world scenarios
Develop a comprehensive understanding of accounting functions, with a focus on the practical application of knowledge to support business operations.
Attain proficiency in various journal entries related to events, sponsorships, suites, etc., becoming adept at explaining the accounting processes associated with each entry.
Enhance collaborative skills by working effectively with team members, understanding the importance of teamwork in achieving departmental goals
Achieve the ability to understand and perform journal entries with minimal guidance, showcasing independence and confidence in executing accounting tasks
Comprehend the broader impact of accounting activities on the business, recognizing how accurate financial records contribute to informed decision-making
HOURS & DURATION  Part-time (25 to 30 hours per week); must be available to work at events, many of which occur on weekends and evenings, as directed by their immediate supervisors

Salary Range: $19-$20/hour In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Hollywood Park considers a candidate's education, certification, prior experience, as well as internal and external data when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Only in exceptional circumstances, if an external candidate has the experience, credentials, or expertise far exceeding what is expected for the position, would Hollywood Park consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
