- The Children, Youth, Family, and Transitional Age Youth Services Division (CYFTAY) provides a range of services to low-income and underserved clients with multiple challenges and abilities, including infants, toddlers, preschool children (including those with special needs), youth (including transitional age youth, pregnant/parenting teens, and those in the foster care system), and families (including low-income, immigrant, monolingual, and homeless populations).
- Felton's CYFTAY division offers comprehensive early care and education, family support, and mental health services to over 400 families in San Francisco, utilizing a two-generation approach that focuses on the Strengthening Families Framework and its Five Protective Factors: parental resilience, increased social connections, increased knowledge of parenting and child development, providing concrete support in times of need, and supporting social-emotional competence in young children.
- This integrated service continuum serves as a one-stop-shop that allows families to address their needs under one roof with a core group of staff, enabling them to build trusting, supportive relationships.
- At present, Felton's family support programming comprises various initiatives, namely the Young Family Resource Center (YFRC) that caters to the needs of teen and young adult parents, their children, and families through a population-focused, peer-directed, and peer-focused approach.
- Recruit speakers and provide resources for family events as indicated through the utilization of parent education and interest surveys.
