- Salary/Position Classification $64,000 - $68,000 Annual, Exempt 40 hours per week 100% Remote Work Availability: No Hybrid Work Availability: No Purpose of Position Reporting to the Director for Safety, this position is responsible for the management of environmental related programs; ensuring compliance with University Environmental program and develop policies and procedures specific to the environmental/ hazardous materials programs.
- Devise methods to evaluate the environmental program and conduct evaluations, as well as compile statistical information to determine environmental priorities for UND. Responsible for training University staff regarding the proper handling of oil and hazardous waste spills according to the SPCC Plan. Manage project requirements related to NEPA, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and other natural resource planning/permitting disciplines.
- Responsible for supervising work of outside contractors during performance of asbestos, mold, lead and/or other hazardous waste removal and testing to ensure adherence to federal, state and local regulations as well as University policies and procedures.
- Perform sampling and analysis of wastewater and cooling tower water.
- Responsible for all hazardous waste documentation and manifests and stays abreast of Federal and State laws and regulations including Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Comprehensive Environmental Repose, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA).
