- What is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)?
- An EMT performs interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance and is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.
- After successful completion of the course, the employee will be eligible to take a written and skills test offered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) - EMT Examination, register with the Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA), go through the DMV process for your Ambulance certificate, and will be required to work for AMR-San Bernardino for a period of at least one year.
- Upon receipt of the state EMT-B certification, employees will be assigned their full-time shift and complete new employee training.
