- The Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees and assures that the company complies with applicable federal and state health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards by embracing current standards and embracing new technologies.
- Coordinate with Parent Company EHS programs and initiatives, and participate in the Corporate Safety Committee governing best practices to instill a safe working environment throughout all business units of Transtar.
- Conduct new-hire occupational health, safety and environmental orientation.
- Direct environmental compliance programs related to hazardous waste, air permitting, water pollution control, storm water, underground storage tanks and community right-to-know programs.
