- Reporting directly to the Special Education Teacher, the Educational Sign Language Interpreter facilitates communication and assists teachers in the classroom.
- Work as a resource specialist with hearing impaired students and their teachers to develop language, articulation and academic skills within the school and home environment.
- Completion of a Sign Language Interpreter Preparation Program OR Registry of Interpreters (RID) certification, (i.e., masters comprehensive skills certification (MCSD/CSC); OR certificate of interpretation (CI); OR certificate of transliteration (CT); OR interpreting certificate (IC).
