- Primary Purpose The Director, Legislative Programs is responsible, at the direction of the Vice President of Government Affairs, for designing tactics and strategy to accomplish the legislative agenda of the leadership, the Board, the Executive Committee, and the members of the Nuclear Energy Institute.
- Principal Duties and Responsibilites Enhance relationships with Members of Congress, their staff, key personnel in the Administration and state officials, so as to improve their knowledge and understanding of commercial nuclear technology, in order to move them in the direction of accomplishing the goals of the nuclear industry.
- Initiate, and actively participate in, congressional outreach to enhance NEI’s relationship with the House and Senate committees of jurisdiction central to accomplishing the goals of the nuclear industry.
- Maintain and update NEI’s lobbying materials, including committee member and staff rosters and voting records.
- Provide briefings and political updates to Government Affairs Advisory Committee, the Government Affairs Standing Committee and other industry groups.
