- The Director of Clinical Laboratories at Loyola University Medical Center, under the direction of the Regional Administrative Director coordinates and ensures the effectiveness of the core lab, microbiology, transfusion medicine, transplant immunology, and clinical genomic laboratories.
- This includes setting priorities, developing policies and procedures; collaborating with medical and administrative leaders to assure efficient lab operations; financial and human resource management; strategic planning; and quality assessment and improvement.
- They continually evaluate progress toward objectives and ensures that day-to-day operations are efficient and effective while maintaining the standards of laboratory practice as defined by the College of American Pathologists, American Society of Clinical Pathologists, Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute and relevant professional societies.
- In collaboration with senior management and/or clinical leadership, assists in establishing standards and strategic initiatives to support organizational patient care goals.
