- Knowledgeable, with at least four years of experience, in the areas of prevention, care, and access to support services related to sexual health, LGBTQ+ health and wellness, drug user health, health disparities and equity, and incidents of community-based violence.
- Experienced public speaker with ability to represent the Commissioner and Governor as assigned.
- Effective intercultural communication skills and ability to advocate/address issues of diversity and inclusivity, setting and implementing an overarching vision and framework of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at the leadership, programmatic and administrative levels.
- Demonstrated understanding of various communities, including people with disabilities, Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color, LGBTQ+, persons who use drugs, and otherwise marginalized persons.
- The OHEHR directly facilitates health equity and DEI focused committees' representative of state agencies, DOH staff members and community stakeholders; works closely with all programmatic areas, as well Senior Staff, to ensure that organizational culture, practice, and leadership development are clearly reflected in the Department’s vision for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
