- The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person.
- The Deputy Chief of Staff will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including, but not limited to, the following:-Working closely with the OCME Chief of Staff and Chief Medical Examiner in developing, leading, and executing agency head strategic initiatives, policies, projects, and collaborations, encompassing both internal and external stakeholders.
- Serving as OCME liaison to Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services team, intergovernmental liaisons -Lead person on inter/intra-agency meetings, convenings, and working groupsdeveloping partnerships, initiatives and policies as directed.
- Advise on hiring key personnel in addition to their onboarding and the tracking of personnel matters.
- Draft memos, background documents, presentation materials, reports, and other documents -Represent the Chief of Staff in his absence.
