RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
YOUR IMPACTAre you passionate about analyzing data, finding insights and using them to build strategies for an unsecured lending business? We’re looking for a senior professional to lead our Commercial lending risk team within 1st line Risk Management and responsible for loans and cards. The head of commercial underwriting risk will use their expertise and ideas to build an end-to-end risk management program including strategy, analytics, manual underwriting framework for mid to large clients, and implement risk appetite for small business lending and cards HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL<ul><li>Lead development, implementation and maintenance of credit underwriting strategy lending programs</li><li>Build and optimize existing customer management strategies for risk mitigation and improve customer level profitability</li><li>Design loss forecasting framework and partner with finance and marketing for short term and long term business planning for the responsible business line/ product</li><li>Partner with marketing, finance and operations teams to ensure adherence to risk appetite and credit risk management framework for appropriate risk adjusted returns </li><li>Analyze and evaluate potential vendors and data providers for incremental value in credit management strategies in a continuous improvement environment</li><li>Stay up-to-date on applicable regulations and compliance requirements with possible interactions with internal and external regulators</li><li>Develop analytical reports and presentations for senior management, executive committees and regulatory exams</li></ul>SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR<ul><li>Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or a related field</li><li>10-15+ years of hands on experience in the job offered or in a quantitative research position and leadership experience of directly managing or being responsible for a function or process with direct reports</li><li>Skilled at small business lending strategy and commercial underwriting of mid to large size businesses.</li></ul>Prior work experience must include<ul><li>Building, improving or analyzing underwriting and Portfolio management strategies in consumer or small business lending</li><li>Utilizing knowledge of U.S. credit bureau data, business bureau data, risk scorecards</li><li>Analyzing cash flow, debt coverage ratios, and other financial metrics to assess credit risk</li><li>Familiarity with different consumer and small business lending practice in industry ranging from traditional banks to innovative fintech and relevant service providers</li><li>Deep understanding of analytics practice utilizing SAS, R, Python (or similar) for statistical modeling using large transactional and time series data</li><li>Using advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel (including creation of pivot tables, logic functions, data tables and regression analysis), PowerPoint and Word </li><li>Visualizing complex data analyses and communicating to a wide variety of audiences, including senior leadership</li><li>Developing comprehensive risk management reports using SQL or a similar database query language for extracting data from large datasets</li><li>Managing several projects simultaneously and driving end-to-end project delivery</li><li>Developing policy and procedures documentation for credit risk strategy execution</li></ul>
