- The coordinator is an integral member of the IC, which is charged with creating a holistic, student-centered environment that cultivates community and belonging, provides resources for students¿ personal and academic success, and connects students to opportunities for campus engagement.
- The Kessler Scholars Program offers evidence-based best practices for student success and academic, professional, and personal support to help first-generation students navigate Syracuse University with a sense of belonging and purpose across all years of their undergraduate experience.
- The coordinator will also work closely with the other offices in the IC: Office of Multicultural affairs, Disability Cultural Center, LGBTQ Resource Center, Euclid, and Center for International Services.
- Job Specific Qualifications Strong knowledge of first-generation college student support and demonstrated experience working with people with marginalized identities through an intersectional lens that includes race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexuality, and disability, to name a few.
- Experience relevant to working with the student populations served by the LGBTQ Resource Center, Disability Cultural Center, Multicultural Affairs, Euclid, or the Center for International Services a plus.
