- The Communications and Engagement Lead supervises a small team of communications and engagement professionals who support the work of the U.S. Global Change Research Program, including the development of major national scientific assessments, such as the National Climate Assessment and National Nature Assessment.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to USGCRP senior management team, National Coordination Office staff, and USGCRP Interagency Groups on internal and external communications and engagement strategies
- Guide the articulation of programmatic and scientific topics in all forms of USGCRP and National Coordination Office communication products, including talking points, annual reports to Congress, presentations, newsletters, and social media
- Oversee development of an annual strategy and proposed budget for USGCRP presence at external events such as conferences, workshops, and professional society meetings
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or public policy, although another degree accompanied by highly relevant experience in public engagement and communications will be considered
