- POSITION SUMMARY: The Communications Specialist works in accordance with established policies and procedures with direct and specific instruction from the System Director of Marketing & Public Relations (SDM&PR) to help raise awareness for, and build the reputation of, South Texas Health System's facilities, staff and service lines, as well as contributions to the local community.
- Working directly under the supervision of the SDM&PR, this position will develop and manage communications that promote, enhance and protect South Texas Health System's brand image and reputation, including in-house multimedia content and public relations efforts with the local media, bloggers, influencers, etc.
- Responsible for creating multi-channel, integrated communication products and services including; online communications such as web/blog posts, multimedia content in conjunction with STHS' outside creative agency, e-newsletters and public relations activity including media releases and communications.
- The position will assist the SDM&PR in the execution of multimedia content strategies that are intended to create, maintain and promote a positive public image.
- The Communications Specialist will help execute the yearlong content plan developed by the SDM&PR, helping to share timely content across all channels, among other duties.
