- Performs brief evaluation, consultations, and psychotherapy for Veterans presenting to this Primary Care team with a full range of behavioral health difficulties (e.g., mood and anxiety difficulties, modifications in lifestyle behaviors such as diet and exercise that may contribute to physical health issues such as chronic pain, insomnia, obesity and diabetes, problem substance use, stress management, grief counseling, coping and problem-solving skills, etc).
- Academic/Teaching/Training The psychologist may hold an academic title at Boston University School of Medicine and/or Harvard Medical School.
- Currently, APA accredits doctoral programs in the specialty areas of clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or combinations of two or more of those areas.
- CPA accredits doctoral programs in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, clinical neuropsychology, and school psychology.
- There are no job assignments in VHA that require the skills of a school psychologist; therefore, an applicant with a degree in the specialty area of school psychology is not eligible for appointment.
