- One of the first human genetics departments in the country, the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at IU School of Medicine has a rich history of training geneticists and genetic counselors and providing genetic consultation and counseling services.
- The department contributes to the understanding of numerous genetic conditions through the integration of basic research in genetic and genomic mechanisms, translational research in disease models, and clinical trials in rare and common genetic diseases.
- The IU Genetic Testing Laboratories (IUGTL) and its core laboratory sections of Molecular Genetics, Cytogenetics, Pharmacogenomics, Diagnostic Genomics and Biochemical Genetics, offer comprehensive genetic testing for the diagnosis of new disorders and the ongoing management of disease, and also support research efforts for faculty both inside and outside of IUSM. This position will support the information system needs of all laboratory sections within the IUGTL.
- Collaborates with IU Health Cerner team and University IT services.
- The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
