- Under the general supervision of the Director of Dietary, assesses nutrition status, designs, implements, monitors, and documents nutritional support; provides nutrition education as necessary for patients and referrals.
- Approves the regular and therapeutic diets so that food and nutritional needs of the patients are met in accordance with the physician's orders and, to the extent medically possible, meet the dietary allowances of the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences, National Research Center.
- Also serves as the Diabetes Education Coordinator and plays a role in reducing the risk of diabetes in Graham/Greenlee County, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of the DSME program.
- Completion of a Didactic program in dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
- Completion of registration examination administered by the Commissions on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
