We need our engineering team to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments and have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. In this role, you will perform a variety of civil and structural engineering management tasks. Willingness to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locationsis expected.Specific Responsibilities<ul><li>Reviews and approves discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project. Maintains appropriate staffing level, including temporary personnel, as needed. Reviews and approves staff forecasting reports.</li><li>If assigned to a major program, manages all engineering and design efforts for all disciplines required for the program. Coordinates all discipline staffing requirements for the program.</li><li>Monitors the quality and progress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied. Works closely with Project Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance, or productivity.</li><li>Establishes standards and procedures for the discipline. Recommends improvements to department procedures.</li><li>Recruits, interviews, and evaluates prospective employees. Hires, offers personnel development, conducts performance evaluations, counsels employees, takes corrective actions (as required), and approves terminations. Ensures that new employees receive orientation on company policies and procedures.</li><li>Supports pre-contract and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant.</li><li>Ensures performance within overhead budgets authorized for the discipline.</li><li>Contributes to the development of innovative engineering principles and ideas.</li><li>Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. </li></ul>Skills and Competencies<ul><li>Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity.</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.</li><li>Must possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.</li><li>Experience in developing Feasibility, Conceptual, FEED, FEL and Detail Design packages for various project types.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with delivery of facility design packages for complex multi-discipline architecture & engineering design projects.</li><li>Projects will be executed in the Oil & Gas, Chemical Plant, Biomedical and Pharmaceutical markets.</li></ul>Education and Typical Experience<ul><li>4-year Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.</li><li>15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience.</li><li>Professional Engineer registration required.</li><li>Ability to obtain Structural Engineer (SE) registration within 6 months highly recommended.</li></ul>Minimum Clearance Required to Start:Not Applicable/NoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 75 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
