- These positions are being dual posted as Civil Engineer Trainees.
- If the positions are filled as Civil Engineer Trainees, the incumbents will participate in a one year formal on-the-job training program to learn the duties of a Civil Engineer (Hydraulic).
- As a Civil Engineer (Hydraulic), you will function as project specialist in the Division of Dam Safety’s Field Engineering Section and will be involved in performing a variety of journey-level civil engineering work such as hydrology, hydraulics, and general monitoring requirements for dams under the provisions of the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act, including the Chapter 105 Dam Safety and Waterway Management rules and regulations, the Clean Streams Law, and the Flood Plain Management Act.
- The mission of the division is to protect the lives and property of Pennsylvanians living downstream of dams by preventing dam failures through technical analysis, inspection, monitoring, and compliance.
- Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
