- A certified Structural Plans Examiner (Residential) is an individual who has been delegated powers and duties by a Building Official or Chief Structural Plans Examiner to perform plans reviews of the Building Code - Residential and other applicable Codes and Standards for one-and two- family dwellings and townhouses not more than three stories in height.
- Performs detailed structural and building plan reviews including loads analysis, computation of structural capacities, evaluation of handicap requirements, layout, material, construction methods, general design and specifications.
- Requests vacation and/or demolition of any building or structure declared unsafe.
- A Florida licensed professional engineer who obtained licensure by examination in the civil or structural disciplines and who has practiced as a structural engineer for a period of not less than five years after licensure to include two years 'experience in the structural design of buildings.
- Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, word processor, calculator, copier, and fax machine
