- In this position, the Campaign Counsel works in collaboration with the Advocacy Team to devise and execute campaigns in furtherance of Government Accountability Project’s mission by applying the organization’s methodology of representing whistleblowers and ensuring their disclosures protect democracy and promote government and corporate accountability.
- The Campaign Counsel serves as counsel of record for whistleblower clients, working under the supervision of the Director of Advocacy Campaigns (attorney) to evaluate the legal needs, risks, and opportunities of whistleblower clients through Government Accountability Project’s campaign methodology.
- The campaign counsel will initially provide support to campaigns within the Public Health, Food Integrity, Environment, and Immigration issue areas, and the Campaign Counsel’s caseload will develop according to Government Accountability Project’s strategic priorities and immediate or emerging threats about which whistleblowers may disclose information.
- Serve as client liaison in a trauma-informed manner.
- Conduct investigations, perform legal research, and draft client complaints and public disclosures.
