Nesco Resource is currently sourcing for Industrial Sewing Machine Operators for our client in Clinton Township. This is a 2nd shift contract to hire position. Shift: 2:30pm to 11:00pm Monday through Friday (overtime based upon production needs). Training on 1st shift 6:00am to 2:30pm. Industrial sewers are needed to work on the seating fabric. Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul> <li>To sew fabric, leather and foam necessary to complete seat and service orders.</li> <li>Assist with the flow of material through embroidery and sewing operations.</li> <li>Sew material to fill service department orders.</li> <li>Sew individual pieces together to create seat cover set or service order as specified on traveler.</li> <li>Perform maintenance tasks required to maintain sewing machines.</li> <li>Inspect for compliance to quality, craftsmanship and sewing standards.</li> <li>Provide suggestions to improve sewing operation and flow of orders through the area/plant.</li> <li>Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain workspace and equipment.</li> <li>Perform proper preventive maintenance as required on any equipment being used.</li> <li>Follow all safety guidelines and uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</li> <li>Support the quality system and identify nonconformities and follow nonconforming procedures including alerting supervisor of nonconformance.</li> <li>Implement process improvements.</li> <li>Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental standards and procedures. Participate in investigations and 8D process as needed.</li> <li>Report occupational injuries, illnesses and accidents.</li> <li>Report hazardous, unsafe and unhealthy working conditions.</li> <li>Understand, support, and contribute to clients Total Quality Management, Quality (ISO/TS 16949), and Environmental Management (ISO14000) Systems by following approved policies and procedures.</li> </ul> Additional Responsibilities <ul> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
