About the role:
The Associate Producer, The Family Handyman, Streaming TV will support Jukin Medias Streaming TV teams Executive Producer, Supervising Producer, Producers and Sr. Director of Current Programming & Development to produce longform programming for Jukins quickly growing FAST channel/OTT/CTV business. This role will collaborate in the creation and production of Streaming TV programming and take ownership of numerous support tasks. The candidate has a solid skillset in storytelling, communicating and production for TV audiences as well as Digital audiences. Great opportunity to be part of an award-winning team.
This position will report to the Executive Producer, Streaming TV.
Location:
We have offices in New York, Los Angeles, New Delhi, London, Milwaukee and Minnesota. We welcome you to any of our offices, but you can also have the opportunity to work from home.
About You:
You are passionate about UGC content and half hour television series. You enjoy collaborating on unscripted television from all POVs including VO narration, stage direction, and the incorporation of UGC content into the narrative, as well as organizing and tracking footage, library content, original programming elements, especially in the DIY / Home lifestyle genre. You are able to assist in the production of a broad scope of genres including comedy, lifestyle and athletic/sports and weather, but most especially the home and DIY space. Your Day-to-Day:
* Support the Producers in the US and in India, including the Executive Producer, Supervising Producer, Producers and Sr. Director of Current & Development in the creation of Streaming TV length-episodes, including originally filmed productions as well as clip-based formats in all genres, but most importantly in the home & DIY space
* Sourcing and approving clips from Acquisitions to curate the best content for the brand
* Being responsive to Producers and Sr., Director of Current Programming feedback on clip selection and creative execution of all videos
* Being responsive to the Content Strategists data after compilations go live to make better clip choice and edit choices
* Responsible for writing and coming up with copy for memes and social vide posts when applicable
* Helps organize original shoots, handle paperwork, and releases when needed
* Help manage and maintain post production workflow
* Constant communication with the Director, Scheduling and Strategy to insure accurate delivery dates, deliverables and be flexible with air dates adjustments
* Working with the Brand Managers, Producers, and Development Team to create new formats based on data from the Content Strategist on a monthly basis
* Assist in Producing curated and original series for Streaming TV in the DIY and home genre first, and other genres second
* Contribute to the ideation of new show concepts in the DIY space
* Collaborate and often oversee the re-format and/or creation of 3rd party content - liaise with content partners
* Manage some cast & crew associated with projects when assigned..
* Identify appropriate resources needed for each individual project, coordinate efforts with producer to ensure timely completion of greenlit series.
* Write episode descriptions for the assets
* Collaborate with GFX team on all graphic packages and animated assets
* Log, track and update OTT inventory
You Have:
* 3+ years experience as an Associate Producer and/or Assistant Director
* Mastery of the English language and a familiarity of English used in U.S. social media.
* Experience with editorial and content curation
* Deep understanding of digital video trends, analytics and publishing standards
* Strong writing skills in social media and short form formats
* Passion for storytelling in an unscripted, daily publishing environment
* Personality profile to fit into a high-growth, entrepreneurial culture that requires teamwork and significant interaction with employees at all levels.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile growth environment where you will get your hands into the details.
* Well-developed Microsoft Office, Jira, scheduling, and Google suite skills
