- The Department of Medicine and Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism are committed to academic excellence and diversity across the faculty, staff, and student body and is interested in candidates to lead a research program, are committed to teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians and faculty, and are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusivity in the workplace.
- The UCSD Endocrinology and Metabolism division consists of over 30 full-time active faculty, 12 academics, 29 postdoctoral fellows, and 45 staff members.
- Divisional faculty receive over $10 million in grant funding each year, including $6.5 million from the NIH. The Division has innovative basic, translational, and clinical research programs in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, metabolic liver disease, dyslipidemia, metabolic bone disease, and other endocrine disturbances.
- The Division also has an outstanding Endocrinology Fellowship Program with clinical and research tracks.
- Graduate student research is supported by a second T32 award in Molecular Endocrinology.
