- The State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Sciences University (Downstate) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to lead a laboratory research program in one or more field of cognitive neuroscience, preferably involving learning and memory.
- Research projects may be at the molecular/cellular, circuit and/or systems level, and involve experimental and/or computational approaches.
- The faculty candidate is encouraged to interact with current Downstate neuroscience researchers in Physiology & Pharmacology, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Psychiatry, and other departments, helping to make the institution more competitive for large collaborative institutional grants.
- The faculty member will contribute to teaching and training of medical students in the College of Medicine and MD/PhD and PhD graduate students in the School of Graduate Studies' Neural & Behavioral Science program.
- Located in the heart of Brooklyn, SUNY Downstate is the only academic medical center for research, health education, community service, and patient care serving Brooklyns 2.6 million diverse residents.
