- The USF Racial Justice Clinic (RJC) is seeking an Assistant Professor and Supervising Attorney to continue the Clinic's resentencing work under California Penal Code Section 1172.1 and to continue to implement the California Racial Justice Act (RJA).
- The position will consist of (1) representing people whose cases have been referred to the trial court by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) for resentencing and (2) implementing the RJA, with a specific focus on death penalty and life-without-the-possibility-of-parole cases.
- The position will also be expected to co-teach a weekly clinic seminar and supervise USF Racial Justice Clinic students.
- The USF Racial Justice Clinic will provide direct representation for cases in which the incarcerated person has been referred for resentencing by CDCR based on “extraordinary conduct” while incarcerated.
- Under the supervision of the Clinic's Director, handle a reasonable caseload of death penalty and life-without-the-possibility-of-parole cases in which the Racial Justice Clinic is acting in a supportive role;
