- The Assistant Director of Space Planning & Management is a central position within the College of Science (COS), ensuring that College-managed offices, laboratories, teaching spaces, and support areas are designed, built, and operated in a safe, effective, and sustainable manner.
- Reporting to the Director of Space Planning & Operations, the Assistant Director of Space Planning & Management will be responsible for understanding the unique and dynamic space needs of COS and helping manage the resources required for the acquisition, upkeep, renovations, and safe operations of that space.
- With the Director of Space Planning & Operations, the Assistant Director will act as the COS representative for relocations, renovations, or other space-related projects.
- With the Director of Space Planning & Operations, the Assistant Director will be responsible for identifying, assessing, validating, and planning for COS space needs, particularly faculty laboratory and pedagogical spaces.
- Collaborates closely with the Director of Space Planning & Operations, as well as various campus stakeholders, to understand the ‘pipeline’ of incoming needs and successfully advocate for COS needs.
