- General Summary: The Area Coordinator for 2nd Year+ (AC) is a professional live-in position responsible, as a member of the Residence Life Staff, for creating a safe, inclusive, fun and transformative residential learning experience for undergraduate students at Seattle Pacific University and managing the day-to-day operations of the 2nd Year+ Halls operations and program.
- As a mid-level administrative position within Residence Life, the AC is responsible for supervision of the professional RLCs and paraprofessional staff in the 2nd Year+ Halls, offering support and supervision to the RLCs On-Call in an administrative back-up rotation with other administrative staff and oversight of one major administrative assignment within Residence Life. The AC may assume departmental responsibility in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director.
- Train, supervise and evaluate 8-10 undergraduate Resident Advisors in Emerson Hall. AC provides primary supervision for the Hill Hall RLCs and may supervise one part-time graduate assistant.
- Facilitate student learning around general Student Life learning outcomes and specific outcomes for 2nd & 3rd year students through relationships and programs, including the areas of community & leadership development, faith formation & Christian service, cultural understanding & engagement, vocation & calling, health & wellness and integrated learning & academic success.
- May advise a GA or student Area Council Advisor within Emerson Hall, with a focus on community development through student advocacy and programs.
