- Develops, in collaboration with the training veterinarian, training and documentation of training including but not limited to animal handling, blood collection, animal injection, and anesthesia administration on a broad range of species and administers training to research staff.
- Provides clinical care for research animals which includes routine health exams for a wide range of species for signs of disease or illness, maintains medical records and controlled substance logs, administers treatments / medications under the supervision of the veterinarian, provides anesthesia support, prepares diagnostic samples, and operates X-ray equipment.
- Experience in a laboratory animal facility or veterinary clinic.
- Certification through the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science OR registered Veterinarian Technician (RTV) license.
