- JOB DESCRIPTION Airport Rescue Firefighter (ARFF) FULL-TIME REGULAR Starting annual salary $46,228-$62,738 ($14.00-$19.00 per hour based on a 60 hour work week) depending on certifications Open until filled
- GENERAL PURPOSE Under the direction of the Fire Chief and supervision of the Deputy Chief and shift Lieutenant, perform fire suppression and emergency medical services in response to emergency calls.
- MINIMUM DEPARTMENT AND TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS Firefighter applicants must meet the minimum requirements for consideration: Be at least 21 years of age and U.S. Citizen Possess a New Mexico Driver’s License (Class E) or obtain within 6 months of hire Possess New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician – Basic or higher, must obtain within twenty-four (24) months of hire.
- IFSAC or Pro Board Firefighter II; preferred or obtain within twelve (12) months of hire.
- WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, jog, run, sprint, climb, bend, lift, raise, kneel, crawl, squat, stretch, pull, push, twist, hold, grip, carry, drag, throw, catch, lean, maintain balance, and other miscellaneous physical abilities; ability to perform complex tasks during emergency and non-emergency situations.
