- Colorado's Administrative Review Division (ARD) serves as an independent third-party review system under the auspices of the Colorado Department of Human Services.
- The ARD manages quality assurance and quality improvement programs for Colorado’s child welfare and adult protective services systems.
- Specifically, the ARD is the mechanism responsible for the federally required Case Review System and a portion of the Quality Assurance System for both the Division of Child Welfare and the Division of Youth Services.
- Additionally, the ARD conducts quality assurance reviews of Adult Protective Services cases.
- The purpose of the Adult Protective Services Dispute Review Unit (APSDRU), within the Child and Adult Mistreatment Dispute Review Section (CAMDRS), is to review county department findings or responsibility for incidents of mistreatment of an at-risk adult when such determinations are appealed in accordance with due process principles.
