- Delivery of maintenance projects includes designing and compiling plans and specifications for annual maintenance projects such as region wide pavement marking, rumble strip, guardrail, and sign replacement.
- Major Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Under the guidance of the Traffic and Safety Resident Engineer: Project Delivery Process - Develop design schedules, engineers' estimates, specification packages, and construction plan sets using Microstation OpenRoads and/or lnRoads (latest available CAD program).
- Project Design Process - Design traffic signals, intersections, Multi-modal/ADA, and signing/striping projects, utilizing traffic and safety engineering fundamentals and guidance from: AASHTO Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, Roadside Design Guide, Manual On Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), CDOT Design Guide, CDOT Standard Specifications, CDOT M&S Standards, and other applicable design manuals.
- Become familiar with project consultant and contractor compliance with federally mandated programs and state requirements (i.e. EEO, AA, Davis-Bacon, OSHA, ADA, local ordinances, etc
- Review Methods of Handling Traffic (MHT's) for compliance with MUTCD and CDOT traffic control procedures for use on permit projects.
