- 60%) Conducts complex investigations of reported and/or suspected violations of Texas Health and Safety Code (HSC) Chapter 433 - Texas Meat and Poultry Inspection Act (TMPIA) and the associated rules, regulations, and other related statutes.
- Thorough knowledge of all phases of livestock slaughter operations and meat/poultry processing and fabrication procedures in inspected establishments and in various retail operations.
- Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications: Required Training: Satisfactory completion of an Inspection Methods class, or equivalent training in humane livestock slaughter and meat and poultry Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Systems, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Sanitation Performance Standards (SPS), Pathogen Reduction
- Minimum three years of regulatory public health experience in a state and/or federal meat, poultry or other food or livestock inspection program since January 1, 2000
- Position MAY be home-based within assigned territory or headquartered at a regional DSHS Office at the discretion of the MSA Compliance Circuit Manager.
