KEY STAKEHOLDERS The Major Gifts Officer will is expected to work externally with major individual donors and family foundations, and internally in close partnership with the Global Executive DIrector and Global Director of Development, as well as with a cross-section of staff in Development, Communications and Program as needed to support the development of donor relations.

The Apollo seeks a Major Gifts Officer who will oversee donor engagement and strategic fundraising initiatives by successfully identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift donors.

Five or more years of experience with individual major gifts with documented track record of success of securing gifts at six-figure level or a combination of success in high end sales management with experience in major gifts fundraising.

The Major Gifts Officer is a regular, full-time position responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of contributions from major donors and major donor prospects (in coordination with the Director, Major Gifts, the Leadership Giving program and the other major gifts officers.

Oversee the management and marketing of the corporate, annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving programs and coordinate fundraising from foundations, individuals, and government agencies.

Manage, coach and mentor a team of development professionals, including a development director, major gifts officer, development officer, grants officer and grants/awards manager. Proven success in nonprofit development, including major individual gifts and corporate and foundation grants.

The CDO plans and leads the agency’s fundraising efforts, including major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation relationships, grants, planned giving, and special events. Serve as the agency’s lead major gifts officer and support the CEO, Board members, volunteers and staff to identify, cultivate, and solicit charitable gifts.

The new CDO will have a proven track record of building a culture of philanthropy, comprehensive/capital campaigns, engaging board members, closing major gifts, staff management, and partnering with an executive leadership team to advance an organization.

As Manager, Prospect Research & Portfolio Management you will be responsible for creating donor profiles with the purpose of solicitation or cultivation for Major Gifts, Tocqueville and Endowment.

The Managing Director is a full-time professional fundraising position reporting to the Vice President for Development, Major Gifts. Managing Director, Major Gifts, Undergraduate Schools.
