Job Description:

Curry College is seeking an experienced, relational, and highly skilled mental health administrator and leader to serve as the next Director of Counseling Services. The Director will provide strategic direction and oversight of all counseling services leading, supporting, and motivating a robust team providers and trainees in delivering high-quality, culturally competent mental health care to meet the needs of the college's student population.

The Director reports to the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and is responsible for providing leadership, vision, and management of Counseling Services. The Director also provides vision and leadership regarding the provision of mental health services on campus. Collaborating with other departments and campus partners, this position will be tasked with advising on situations and policies having a mental health component. Consistent with the mission, goals, and priorities of the department, division, and College, the Director is responsible for meeting accreditation and federal/state compliance standards and requirements.

The Director supervises professional staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive behavioral health initiatives that incorporate diversity, equity, inclusivity, and social justice concepts and principles.

Essential Functions:

1. Leadership & Administrative Functions:

* Provides direction and oversight for all counseling services; provides oversight of staffing, budget planning, and management of resources, quality, and overall clinical and outreach operations.
* Creates an environment that leverages the strengths and accomplishments of staff, promotes synergy and teamwork, and empowers experienced professionals with diverse responsibilities.
* Actively strives to foster and maintain a workplace climate that supports employees, respects differences, and creates a working environment that encourages collaboration and professional development.

2. Planning, Development, and Evaluation

* Continuously assesses, monitors, and improves service offerings in response to the changing needs of students and the College.
* Anticipates challenges and prepares short- and long-term plans for wide-ranging campus priorities related to Counseling Services.
* Utilizes technology to enhance and expand the delivery of services.
* Responsible for directing student support services assessment and evaluation efforts within Health and Wellness by identifying, collecting, and utilizing appropriate data to enhance services, report student trends, and develop key strategies and effective prevention and intervention programs to meet the needs of current and future students.
* Ensures compliance with all local, State, and Federal laws, codes, and regulations, and systems, campus, and departmental policies and procedures.

3. Crises Response

* Responsible for making decision related to the psychological disposition of students including those students in psychological crises.
* Oversight of the Counselor On-Call process and adherence to the necessary protocols to participate in On-Call responsibilities and rotation with Staff Counselors.
* Responsible for the oversight of the hospitalization and reintegration process for students.

Additional Functions:

* Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy;
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor of their designee.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

* At least five years of progressively responsible leadership, management, and supervisory experience, preferably within a college counseling center.
* Must possess a current LICSW or be a licensed Psychologist.
* Advanced skills in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, and clinical supervision.
* Knowledge of psycho-social developmental issues of college students.
* Knowledge of the psycho-neurology of learning disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
* Knowledge or expertise with creating and/or implementing a clinical intern trainee program.
* Knowledge of the overall dynamics and mission of a small liberal arts college.
* Basic computer skills.

Salary Range:

$95,000 to $105,000 annually
