Overview Technologist-MRI 22454 Job Code: 22454 FLSA Status Job Family: RADIOLOGY Job Description Title: Technologist-MRI Job Summary Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Job Responsibilities * Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician. * Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient. * Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan. * Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established protocols/guidelines. * Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures. * Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff. * Participates in departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement. * Completes assigned goals. * Performs other duties as assigned. Specifications Experience Description Minimum Required: Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program. Preferred/Desired: MRI experience Education Description Minimum Required: Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Preferred/Desired: Associates degree in related field Training Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Special Skills Description Minimum Required: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principles/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work Preferred/Desired: ARRT (MR) Licensure Description Minimum Required: Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry in Radiography ARRT (R) or Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT (MR), or Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging by American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire; New graduate will obtain required registry within 120 days as required; State license as required Preferred/Desired: Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT(MR) preferred.
