Outside Sales Representative

This role is perfect for a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about connecting clients with exceptional food products.Essential Job Functions/Duties:Present and sell company products and services to current and potential accountsTravel throughout assigned territory to visit regular and prospective customers in order to solicit business activity, or do the same via phone, email, social media, etc.Develop and maintain relationships with customer contactsGrow sales to budget numbers and maintain satisfactory sales marginsIdentify prospective accounts within the assigned territory and contact these accounts for the purpose of selling a full line of products to the accountBased upon observation and initial meetings with customer, prepare a written presentation and proposal that best satisfies the customer’s needsDevelop and maintain current and potential customer relationships; develop target lists of new customer development with Sales Managers supportManage account services including A/R, maintaining current status of all customers A/R; keep daily receivables/DSO within acceptable limitsCommunicate new product opportunities to new and existing customer on weekly basisCoordinate with support personnel to close the sale, including executing credit checks, personal guarantee and maintenance of customer files.Work with warehousing, transportation and purchasing personnel to ensure customer satisfaction; coordinate shipping and delivery of merchandise to customer in the most economical fashionPresent all customers with company’s special offers, new products and promotionsKeep sales management appraised of market conditions and competitive activity in assigned territory; review weekly sales reports with management to determine goal/objective achievementCommunicate competitive trends/pricing issues and other unique issues as it relates to salesPerform customer-related order entry and data analysis as neededProvide management with weekly call, progress and planning reportsMust be able to meet Company goals and objectivesOther duties and responsibilities as requiredBenefits:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceShort- and Long-term disability coverageCompany paid life insurance401(k) retirement plan with company match and profit sharingPaid time off and paid HolidaysJob Specifications:Must maintain clean and reliable transportation and valid driver license; acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)Maintain motor vehicle minimum insurance requirementsDaily business travel requires in and out of vehicle; meeting customers at restaurants and kitchen areas and involve situations such as wet floors, stairs, outside conditions and abnormal conditionsProfessional appearance and attireAbility to work under pressure and deadlines“Hunter” - Innovative, stimulating/motivating, enjoys selling, excellent communication skills, high energy, flexible“Closer” - persuasive personality type who can “seal the deal”, results-oriented, high sense of urgency, self-motivated, decisive, direct but tactful“Farmer” - specialist at servicing the existing customer base, keeping those relationships going and staying attuned to opportunities to sell to the base again; likeable/empathetic, good listener, detail-orientedTeam player who recognizes “magic” occurs where team members use the strengths of others toward a common goalKey Knowledge/ Experiences:Three (3) years’ foodservice sales experience requiredMinimum High School Graduate with business, food technology knowledgeEffective communication skills (oral, written, presentation) and the ability to successfully interact with diverse personalities at all levels in a multi-cultural environment.Good math and computer skills (Microsoft Suite – Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to work flexible hours including some weekend work
