Intermediate Software Developer

Job Description Intermediate DeveloperReston, VAThe Intermediate Developer position supports the Government with application development, software engineering, and application architecture functions for POWTEC LLC. The successful candidate will have comprehensive technical expertise to support ongoing development, maintenance, enhancement, and operational services for enterprise systems using the technologies described in this position description.The position is Non-Exempt (hourly), Full Time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday. This role supports the Government and requires successfully passing a Background Check and Drug Screening. Candidates must be able to obtain a Level 5 public trust clearance.Candidates must be local to Reston, VA. This position will work in hybrid capacity but must be able to commute to the office when necessary.Supervisory Responsibilities:None.Duties/Responsibilities:Work at the direction of Lead/Senior DevelopersCommunicate effectively with other team members and Government PersonnelCollaborate with other developers and Government Personnel to identify and complete tasks effectively and efficientlyFollow development processes, methods, and standards; provide documentation as requested/requiredWork within a Government office settingProvide excellent customer serviceRequired Skills/Abilities:Minimum of 3+ years of documented experience in relevant areasExperience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)Full Stack Development experience with front-end, back-end, and database capabilitiesProficiency in C# (.NET), Angular, and Microsoft SQL Server is preferredKnowledge of server-side web application development with ASP.NET and similar technologiesExperience in client-side programming with HTML, JavaScript, and CSSExperience with Web Service programmingKnowledge of database programming with .NET Entity Framework, SQL Server, and T-SQLStrong understanding of relational database concepts; capable of writing stored procedures, creating, and editing tablesFamiliarity with version control practices and tools, including Git; must be comfortable checking in code, working in branches, and handling merge conflictsFamiliarity with security practices, including authentication mechanisms such as Windows Authentication, NTLM, Kerberos, Certificates, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)Ability to work in a collaborative environment, adapt to changing requirements, and contribute effectively to a development teamExcellent writing, organizational skills, and attention to detailProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareEducation and Experience:Minimum 3+ years of documented experience in all areas identified in Required Skills/AbilitiesA 4-year degree in computer science or commensurate experience is requiredPhysical Requirements: The physical demands described here represent those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustmentThe employee may occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 poundsEmployee will sit for several hours each day but will also need mobility to stand, type, and walk for periodsOccasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlRegular use of hands for typing, handling, or feeling; reach with hands and arms; and ability to talk or hearWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are typical of an office setting, with moderate noise levels.Benefits: Our benefits package can include 17 days per year of Paid Time Off, 11 Paid Holidays, company-paid Life/AD&D at $50,000, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Medical Insurance with Company Contribution up to 90% for employees, and a 401k Plan with up to 5% company match.
