Oral Surgery Assistant

The Surgical Dental Assistant supports the Dentists and Oral Surgeons throughout the consultation, exam and treatment and is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment that fosters long term patient relationships. This individual must create an exceptional patient experience at every point of contact, support excellent patient outcomes and ensure positive patient communications surrounding treatment planning, expected treatment completion times, follow up and recalls.ResponsibilitiesAssist the oral surgeon and dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared and available.Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans.Monitor and record vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures.Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of the dental operatory.Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.Provide support in various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and more as needed.ExperiencePrevious experience in dental assisting is needed; surgery experience is preferredProficiency in taking X-rays and understanding of vital signs is essential.Experience with medical records management is beneficial for maintaining patient information accurately.Knowledge of dental software systems will be advantageous in streamlining office operations.CPR and Sedation Monitoring certification a plusIf you are eager to be a part of transforming lives, creating an exceptional experience and growing in your personal and professional goals, we would love to meet you!Job Types: Full-timeBenefits:Employee discountMedical/Dental/Vision PlanSimple IRA MatchPTOFlexible scheduleExperience:Dental assisting: 2 years (Required)Oral surgery: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:CPR Certification (Preferred)Sedation Certification (Preferred)Work Location: In personBenefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, BonusesCompensation:$21-$24/hour
