Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Preoperative Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Outpatient Surgery RN - Preoperative Unit Schedule This is a 13-week contract position with an 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday. The shifts are primarily from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with occasional shifts starting at 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. Job Description The Outpatient Surgery RN will work in a dynamic preoperative unit specializing in various surgical procedures. The role involves preparing patients for surgery, ensuring that all preoperative assessments are complete, and providing excellent patient care. Responsibilities Conduct preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery. Monitor vital signs and review patient histories prior to procedures. Coordinate with surgical teams for smooth operations. Support patients and their families, addressing any concerns pre-surgery. Utilize IV therapy skills and read cardiac rhythms as part of patient care. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Active nursing license. Certification in ACLS, BLS (AHA), and PALS are required. Experience in preoperative nursing or related fields is preferred. IV therapy skills and ability to read cardiac rhythms are necessary.
