Software Engineer – Embedded/Driver Development (Contract)Location: Austin, TX (onsite)Type: Contract – $64–$69/hrMust be US CitizenAbout the RoleOur client, a leading technology company specializing in test and measurement solutions, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for embedded and driver software products. As part of a product team, you'll collaborate with product architects, product managers, and other engineers to implement designs in an agile/scrum environment.ResponsibilitiesDeliver product features through research, design, development, and documentationCollaborate with team members and leaders on design discussions and code architectureSpecify, design, and implement new product featuresTroubleshoot product defects and resolve them with the teamDevelop tests to ensure high code quality and catch regressionsPeer review code changes submitted by teammatesParticipate in standups, backlog reviews, retrospectives, and brainstorming sessionsExplore and apply new technologies to improve infrastructure and processesRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field5+ years of software development experienceObject-oriented programming with proficiency in C++Strong understanding of software design and computer architecture, including operating system components, embedded/kernel/low-level hardware-software integration, and data structuresExperience with Agile methodology and testing frameworksStrong experience with user mode and kernel mode driver developmentWindows driver development, with hands-on debugging and performance analysisProficient in systems-level, performance-sensitive C++PreferredLinux driver development, including kernel modules and device interfacesLabVIEW experience, especially in test, validation, or hardware integration contextsFamiliarity with Python scripting for automation, tooling, or validationBenefits (employee contribution)Health insuranceHealth savings accountDental insuranceVision insuranceFlexible spending accountsLife insuranceRetirement planAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
